Photo Timestamp: GPS Date Time
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Myworkingmemory LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use Photo Timestamp: GPS Date Time and related support pages or services.
Photo Timestamp is a simple camera app for saving photos with a visible date, time, GPS coordinate, address, and optional note stamp when available. The app is designed to work without accounts, developer-operated cloud sync, third-party advertising, or tracking. The app sends limited product-interaction analytics so we can understand whether app versions, the paywall, purchases, restores, and basic save flows are working.
1. Important Summary
Photo Timestamp is designed to process your photos, location, stamp settings, and optional notes on your device to provide the app's features.
We do not operate a developer server that receives, stores, reviews, or backs up your photos, stamped photos, location history, custom notes, stamp settings, or PendingSaves files from the app.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
We use limited product-interaction analytics, but do not send photos, GPS coordinates, addresses, or custom notes through analytics.
We do not use your photos, notes, location, or app content to train AI models.
We do not request Always location access.
We do not use background location.
This summary is provided for convenience. The full policy below controls.
2. Local Processing Versus Company Collection
The app may process information on your device so that it can take a photo, create a visible stamp, write matching metadata when appropriate, save the stamped photo, remember your settings, and restore your purchase status.
Local processing by the app does not necessarily mean that we receive or collect that information.
For example, the app may process a photo and GPS coordinate on your device to create a stamped image. That does not mean we receive that photo or coordinate.
When we say "we collect" or "we receive" information in this policy, we mean information that is transmitted to us or to service providers acting for us, such as support emails you choose to send.
2A. Product Analytics
The app sends a small, fixed list of product-interaction events to PostHog, our analytics provider, so we can tell which parts of the app work and which fail. The complete list is: app opened, app installed, app updated, photo source selected, permission result, first preview shown, free export completed, export completed, export failed, save failed, batch started, batch completed, batch failed, report exported, trial exhausted, paywall viewed, paywall dismissed, purchase started, purchase completed, entitlement restored, entitlement carried over from an earlier paid purchase, and App Store product load result.
Each event carries only the following: platform, app version, build number, bundle identifier, App Store environment, event-schema version, a coarse batch-size range such as "6-20", the number of free exports used and remaining, which screen opened the Full Access page, a general error category such as "out_of_space", a result word such as "success" or "cancelled", the report format, which permission was asked for, whether Full Access is active, and whether location was included. A random identifier is created on your device the first time the app runs so repeat events can be grouped. It is not derived from you or your hardware and is not shared with any other app.
The app enforces this list in code. An event name or property that is not on the list is discarded before anything is sent, and text values must match a short controlled format, so free text cannot leave the app through analytics even by mistake.
Analytics events never include original photos, stamped photos, the camera feed, thumbnails, GPS coordinates, addresses, notes, client or site names, photo titles, photo library contents, filenames, file paths, file hashes, Photo Log contents, PendingSaves files, payment-card data, transaction identifiers, email addresses, or phone numbers. Analytics is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Person profiles and location enrichment are switched off in the request itself. Development builds of the app do not transmit analytics at all.
3. Information Processed On Your Device
Photo Timestamp may process the following information locally on your device:
- Camera data and photos you choose to capture.
- Photos you choose to import from your photo library, or files you choose to open on Mac and Apple Vision Pro.
- The capture date and coordinates already stored inside a photo you import, when the file has them.
- Date and time information from your device.
- Foreground location information if you choose to allow location access.
- GPS coordinates when available.
- A human-readable address when available, including one address looked up for an imported set.
- Job details you type: client, site, title, and note.
- Photo numbering settings, including any prefix you choose.
- A logo or signature image you choose to add to the stamp.
- Saved presets, which hold the job details, stamp design, and numbering together.
- Stamp design settings: placement, date format, time zone, font, size, colour, panel style, and opacity.
- Photo Log entries for photos stamped since the app was opened, including small thumbnails and a SHA-256 value for each exported file.
- The count of free exports used, and whether Full Access is unlocked.
- A local record that the Terms and Privacy Policy were shown when you bought or restored Full Access. It holds the document versions, a hash of the sentence displayed, the time, your locale, the screen, and a random local reference. It contains no name, email, or account.
- PendingSaves recovery files if saving to Photos fails.
This information is used to provide the app's features. We do not receive your app content from the app unless you choose to send it to us or to another service.
4. Information We Do Not Receive From The App
Unless you choose to send information to us for support or through another user-directed action, we do not receive from the app:
- Your original photos.
- Your stamped photos.
- Your camera feed.
- Your GPS coordinates.
- Your human-readable address stamp.
- Your custom notes.
- Your stamp settings.
- Your local PendingSaves files.
- Your photo library.
- Your location history.
The app does not require an account, and we do not maintain an app account profile for you.
5. Camera
Photo Timestamp asks for camera access so you can take timestamped photos.
Camera access is used only when you choose to use the camera in the app. Camera data is processed on your device to create the stamped photo you choose to save.
We do not receive your camera feed or photos from the app.
6. Location
If you choose to allow location, Photo Timestamp uses foreground location access to add GPS coordinates and, when available, a human-readable address to the stamped photo.
Location is used only while the app's camera screen is active and location proof is enabled.
The app does not request Always location access.
The app does not use background location.
The app does not create a developer-accessible location history.
If location is disabled, denied, unavailable, stale, or inaccurate, the app can still save photos with date and time only.
You can control location permission through your device settings.
7. Address Lookup And Apple Geocoding
If address stamping is enabled, the app may use Apple's location and geocoding services to convert GPS coordinates into a human-readable address.
Apple's services may process the location information needed to provide the address result. We do not receive that location or address from Apple through a developer-operated server.
If address lookup fails, the app may use GPS coordinates only, or omit location information if no acceptable location is available.
Apple's privacy practices are governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policies.
8. Photos And Photo Library
Photo Timestamp asks for permission to add stamped photos to your photo library.
The app is designed to request add-only photo access where available. It does not need full photo-library read access for its main function.
The app saves the stamped photo you create. It does not save an unstamped original by default.
Once a stamped photo is saved to Apple Photos, your use of Apple Photos, iCloud Photos, shared albums, backups, AirDrop, Messages, Mail, Files, or other Apple or third-party services is controlled by your device settings and those services' terms and privacy practices. We do not control those services.
9. Stamped Photos And Metadata
The visible stamp is burned into the saved image itself.
If location proof is enabled and an acceptable location is available, the app may also write matching GPS metadata into the saved image.
If location proof is disabled, denied, unavailable, stale, or inaccurate, the app is designed not to write app-provided GPS metadata.
The visible stamp and metadata are intended to be consistent when location information is used. However, Photo Timestamp is a practical documentation tool and does not make photos tamper-proof, verified, forensic, or impossible to edit.
Photos you save remain on your device and in your photo library unless you choose to share, upload, sync, back up, export, or delete them using Apple Photos, iCloud, your device settings, or another app or service.
10. PendingSaves Recovery Files
If saving to Photos fails, Photo Timestamp may store the final stamped image inside the app's local Documents folder under PendingSaves so you can retry saving later.
PendingSaves files stay on your device and are not uploaded by Photo Timestamp.
PendingSaves are a local recovery convenience, not a backup service.
Deleting the app, resetting your device, deleting local files, running out of storage, or losing access to your device may permanently delete PendingSaves files before they are saved to Photos.
11. Settings, Presets, Logs, And Purchase State
The app stores the following on your device only, and does not send any of it to us: stamp design settings, job details, photo numbering, saved presets, any logo or signature image you add, the Photo Log for the current session, the count of free exports used, whether Full Access is unlocked, and the local record that the legal documents were shown at purchase or restore.
Presets, the logo image, and the acceptance record are kept in the app's Application Support folder. The free-export count, the Full Access state, and a random local reference are kept in the device Keychain, so deleting and reinstalling the app does not reset your free-export count. That count belongs to the device, not to you as a person: the app has no account and no way to recognise you across devices. Stamp settings are kept in the app's own preferences. Deleting the app removes the Application Support and preferences data. Keychain items may remain on the device after the app is deleted; erasing the device removes them.
The Photo Log for the current session is held in memory while the app is open. When you export it as PDF or CSV, the file is written to the app's temporary folder so you can share or save it, and it goes only where you send it.
11A. The SHA-256 Value In A Photo Log
Each Photo Log line includes a SHA-256 value for the exported file. This is a consistency identifier: it lets someone check later that a file is byte-for-byte the one listed in the log. It is calculated on your device and is never sent to us. It is not a certification, it does not make a photo tamper-proof, and it says nothing about whether a photo will be accepted as evidence anywhere.
12. Purchases
Photo Timestamp is a free download that includes three free stamped-photo exports. After those three, producing further stamped photos requires Full Access, a non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple.
If you bought Photo Timestamp when it was a paid download, you may be eligible for Full Access. The app confirms eligibility with Apple using the record of your original purchase. No additional personal information is involved and we do not receive your Apple Account details.
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Apple may provide us with limited purchase, sales, refund, transaction, or entitlement information through Apple developer tools, App Store Connect, StoreKit, or related Apple systems as needed to operate paid features, restore purchases, process refunds, prevent fraud, provide support, comply with Apple requirements, and maintain business records.
Purchases, refunds, Apple Account activity, and payment processing are also subject to Apple's terms and privacy practices.
13. Support Communications
If you contact us for support, we may receive information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, app name, device type, operating system, app version, screenshots, attachments, and any other information you include.
We use support communications to respond to you, troubleshoot issues, improve app reliability, maintain records, and protect our legal rights.
Please do not send sensitive personal information unless necessary for your request.
Before sending screenshots or attachments, you are responsible for reviewing them and removing or obscuring information you do not want to share.
14. Website And Support Page Data
When you visit our website, privacy policy, terms page, or support pages, our hosting, email, or infrastructure providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, timestamps, and similar information to provide, secure, and maintain those pages.
We use this information for hosting, security, troubleshooting, legal compliance, and maintaining our support resources.
15. Apple Diagnostics And App Analytics
If you choose to share diagnostics or analytics with Apple, Apple may provide developers with limited crash logs, diagnostic information, performance information, or aggregated app analytics through Apple developer tools.
Such information may include app version, device model, operating system version, crash time, and technical details about a crash or app performance issue.
We use this information, if available to us, to diagnose bugs, improve reliability, and maintain the app.
16. User-Directed Sharing
When you export, email, text, upload, AirDrop, open, or share a stamped photo or other content from the app, you direct the app, your device, Apple, or another service to send that content to the destination you select.
After you share content with another app, service, person, platform, or device, that destination's terms and privacy practices apply.
We do not control third-party destinations you choose to use.
Copies may remain outside the app even if you later delete the original photo, local file, or app data.
17. How We Use Information
We use information only for the purposes described in this policy, including to:
- Provide and operate the app.
- Create stamped photos.
- Save stamped photos to Photos.
- Remember your settings.
- Restore purchase access.
- Respond to support requests.
- Troubleshoot bugs.
- Maintain app reliability.
- Maintain business records.
- Comply with law, legal process, and Apple requirements.
- Protect the rights, safety, security, and property of us, users, Apple, and others.
18. Third Parties And Service Providers
We may use service providers for limited purposes such as email, hosting, support, infrastructure, security, and business operations.
Service providers may process information only as needed to provide services to us, subject to applicable legal, contractual, or technical restrictions.
Apple processes App Store purchases, downloads, refunds, geocoding, Photos/iCloud behavior, diagnostics, and other Apple services according to Apple's own terms and privacy practices.
We are not responsible for third-party services, apps, platforms, or destinations you choose to use.
19. No Tracking, Ads, Or Sale Of Personal Information
The app does not display third-party advertising.
The app does not use third-party analytics SDKs.
The app does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising or advertising measurement.
We do not sell personal information.
We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable privacy laws.
20. Retention And Deletion
Local app content remains on your device until you delete it, delete the app, change device or storage settings, or the content is otherwise removed by your device, operating system, or Apple services.
Because we do not receive local-only app content, we cannot access, recover, back up, or delete that content for you.
PendingSaves files remain locally on your device until saved to Photos, deleted by the app after successful retry, deleted by you, deleted with the app, or removed by device/system behavior.
Support communications may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, maintain business records, comply with law, resolve disputes, and protect our rights.
Website and hosting logs are retained according to our hosting provider practices and our operational needs.
Purchase, transaction, and refund records may be retained by Apple and may also be reflected in our business records where Apple provides them to us.
21. Your Choices
You can deny or revoke camera permission in iOS Settings, but the app's camera function will not work without camera access.
You can deny or revoke location permission in iOS Settings. The app can still save date/time stamped photos without location.
You can control Photos permission in iOS Settings. If Photos saving fails, the app may use PendingSaves recovery.
You can delete local app data by deleting the app or deleting content where the app provides that option.
You can manage purchases, refunds, and Apple Account settings through Apple.
You can contact us with privacy questions or requests using the contact information below.
Because the app does not require an account and much of the app's content is stored only on your device, we may not have account records or local content to access, correct, recover, or delete.
22. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information we process.
No app, device, operating system, electronic storage method, or transmission method is guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining access to your device, Apple Account, backups, and shared/exported files.
23. Children's Privacy
Photo Timestamp is not directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
24. International Users
If you contact us or use services that process information outside your country, information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate.
Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights under applicable law, such as rights to access, correct, delete, or control certain personal information.
To make a request, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity or request additional information before fulfilling certain requests.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable privacy or consumer protection laws.
25. Legal Disclosures
We may disclose information we maintain if we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or government request, or is necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or property of us, users, Apple, or others.
Because much of the app's content may be stored only on your device, we may not possess content requested by third parties, law enforcement, or users.
26. Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, transfer of the app, or similar transaction, information we maintain may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a replacement policy disclosed as required by law.
This does not mean we can transfer local-only app content we do not possess.
27. Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make material changes to how we collect, use, or share personal information, we will provide notice as required by law and, where required, obtain consent before applying the change.
The "Last Updated" date identifies the latest version of this policy.
Because the app's features and data practices may differ by version, please make sure you are reviewing the Privacy Policy that applies to the version of the app you use.
